Welcome to the Charlottesville Area Planned Giving Council
As a member council of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, we seek to provide planned giving education and networking opportunities for fundraisers and allied professionals in the Greater Charlottesville area. Each year, our primary outreach activity is to host three lunchtime presentations or panel discussions. These forums address issues ranging from the impact of changes in the tax law on donors and charities, to more constructive communication between a gift planner and a financial advisor, to the most effective way to engage a prospective donor in a discussion about a charitable remainder trust. These meetings also provide members in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors opportunities to share perspectives and make valuable contacts.
As you peruse this site, I hope that you will see that our overarching purpose is to assist members in promoting contributions to worthy charitable organizations of all types and sizes. Our members share their expertise not only during meetings, but on a daily basis as they build valuable relationships, and draw on a wide range of expertise in fundraising, marketing, tax law, finance, real estate, and other fields. We have also provided links to some valuable web-based resources in the planned giving field.
