Fall Program of the Charlottesville Area Planned Giving Council

"Ready to Launch a Planned Giving Program?" &
"How to Talk About Planned Giving"

presented by
Peter Thompson
Executive Director, Senior Center
Charlottesville, Virginia

Have you ever wondered if your program was ready to begin promoting planned giving or if it was possible to launch (or even reinvent) your organization's planned giving effort? After joining the Senior Center in 1999, Peter began to contemplate questions very similar to these. The Center has built a planned giving program from the ground up with a very small development staff while simultaneously planning for the Center's immediate and near-term fundraising needs.

Peter's position at the Senior Center gives him a unique understanding of issues and concerns of his constituents and makes him an important local resource to our planned giving community. He will have some very helpful advice for fundraisers when approaching a planned giving conversation with individuals, particularly with seniors.
